Indonesian Contingent Arrives in Paris for 2024 Paralympics

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Paralympic contingent has arrived in Paris and was immediately welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, Wednesday (8/21).
Oemar hopes that the athletes can give their best in every match. He also directly encouraged all members of the contingent.
The Indonesian athletes have previously undergone national training (pelatnas) in Solo from November 2023 to August 2024.
They are even more motivated by the support given by the Ambassador and all Indonesian people.
They are optimistic that they can give the best results in the Paris 2024 Paralympics which will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
In the 2024 Paralympics, Indonesia sent 35 athletes who will compete in 10 sports, namely archery, athletics, cycling, shooting, swimming, boccia, badminton, table tennis, weightlifting, and blind judo.
Previously, 16 members of the Indonesian Paralympic contingent had arrived early in Paris to undergo intensive training. They consist of athletes and coaches from boccia and archery.
Not only for training, the 16 members also had the opportunity to participate in the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration held at the Indonesian Ambassador's House in Paris, on August 17.
The athletes also felt a strong sense of national spirit during the event, which served as an additional motivation for them to face the Paralympics.
For the Paris 2024 Paralympics, Indonesia is targeting one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals.
