SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert admitted he was enthusiastic about his first match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, when Indonesia against Bahrain on Tuesday (3/25).

“We are preparing very well for tomorrow. All the players are fit, we can't wait for tomorrow's match,” Kluivert said at the pre-match press conference against Bahrain, at SUGBK, Jakarta, Monday (3/24), reported by Antara.

“We are confident that we can get good results. The mentality and mindset of the squad is good. So we are ready to compete in a big match tomorrow,” he added.

He realizes that the atmosphere of the spectators who will enliven SUGBK will be extraordinary.

However, Kluivert admitted that this atmosphere was not the first experience for him, because he had already felt the atmosphere when Australia against Indonesia at the Sydney Football Stadium on Thursday (3/20), which was full of a sea of “red” jerseys.

“We already felt (the supporters' atmosphere) against Australia (on away day), I think the supporters were amazing. They always support the players. They provide extra motivation for the players,” said Kluivert.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere at SUGBK will be an important element in helping him achieve his first victory after becoming coach of the Garuda squad.

“Supporters are very important to encourage us to give our best performance,” said Kluivert.

Currently, Indonesia is in fourth place in the Group C standings with six points from seven matches.

Indonesia are three points away from third-placed Saudi Arabia, four points away from second-placed Australia, and 13 points away from first-placed Japan who have already secured a place in the 2026 World Cup.
