FIFA Appoints Qatar to Host Annual 2025-2029 U-17 World Cup

FIFA Appoints Qatar to Host Annual 2025-2029 U-17 World Cup

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - FIFA has granted Qatar multi-year hosting rights for the annual FIFA U-17 World Cup between 2025 and 2029. Meanwhile, Morocco will host the U-17 Women’s World Cup, also over the same five-year period.

The extended hosting period follows the similar concept of FIFA’s strategic objectives to expand the participating teams. It allows the hosting countries to optimize football facilities, and make best use of other infrastructure. It also allows the organizational structures to remain each year, creating a more experienced and efficient working force in the tournament. It will ensure an improved delivery year-on-year.

FIFA had previously announced that the youth tournament will be held annually, with an extended 48 participating nations. The decision was taken so that more young talents could have more opportunity to showcase their skill to compete against the best of each other.
