SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian national team, under the guidance of coach Shin Tae-yong, held a training session at Lapangan A Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, (August/31/2024). This session is part of their preparations for the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers, where they will face Saudi Arabia on (September/5) and Australia on (September/10).

The training, which began at 16:00 WIB, saw 11 out of 12 players participating with enthusiasm. "The players here are in good condition. Only Adi Satryo was absent today to take care of his wife, who is about to give birth. The training in Jakarta is adjusted to the players' condition, and the intensity is not too high," Shin Tae-yong said.

Goalkeeper Muhammad Adi Satryo was granted leave to accompany his wife, but he will join the team as they depart for Saudi Arabia on Sunday (September/1). Meanwhile, the abroad-based players, including Maarten Paes (FC Dallas) and Justin Hubner (Wolves U-21), will arrive in Jeddah on September 1 and 2.

Shin Tae-yong emphasized the importance of thorough preparation, especially as this is Indonesia's first time reaching the third round of the qualifiers. "Preparation must be solid. Since this is our first time in the third round, we need to focus more and work harder. The players will surely give their best," he concluded.

The match against Saudi Arabia will take place at King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, on Thursday (September/5).
