Timor Leste U19 Coach Predicts Indonesia to Win ASEAN U19 Boys' Championship 2024
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Timor-Leste U19 national team coach Eduardo Pereira praises Indonesia U19's potential to win the ASEAN U19 Boys' Championship 2024 under coach Indra Sjafri.
This statement came after his team's 6-2 defeat to Indonesia on Tuesday (7/23). Pereira acknowledged Indonesia's strong performance throughout the group stage, highlighting their three wins and 14 goals scored.
"The Indonesian players have impressed me. With coach Indra Sjafri's experience working with young talent, I believe they can further improve and challenge for the championship title," he said.
He also emphasized the advantage of playing at home, because the host nation always benefits from strong fan support, which can be a significant factor.
Indonesia's last ASEAN U19 Boys' Championship victory came in 2013, defeating Vietnam in a penalty shootout.
