SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Cyrus Margono officially became an Indonesian citizen on Thursday (3/21), after taking an oath at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office.
Margono, born in the United States, holds Indonesian descent through his father, who is from Bali, while his mother is from Iran. While he previously held dual citizenship, he completed the process to regain Indonesian citizenship after missing the initial window to choose it.
According to Transfermarkt.com, the Panathinaikos B goalkeeper has made eight appearances in the Greek second division this season, recording one clean sheet and conceding 12 goals.
Following his citizenship ceremony, Margono will be able to support the Indonesian national team in their match against Vietnam on Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m.
