SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Based on mutual agreement, Arema FC management and coach Fernando Valente have decided to terminate the contract after losing to PSIS Semarang in the continuation of the BRI Liga 1 2023/2024 competition.
This decision was made as a quick and objective response to the unsatisfactory results with the hope that it could have a positive impact on the team.
The Arema FC management appreciates Valente's contribution in helping the psychological transition of the team and its equipment after the Kanjuruhan tragedy. But the team's need to immediately rise from the relegation position is the main focus of the decision.
Arema FC General Manager, Muhammad Yusrinal Fitriandi said that Arema FC must be more focused in the remaining matches.
"Strategic decisions must be taken, our target is clear, Arema must be able to escape relegation," he said.
