Indonesia National Team U-17 Qualified into World Cup, Erick Thohir: Congratulations

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir appreciated the struggle of the Indonesian U-17 national team players after their 4-1 victory over Yemen in the U-17 Asian Cup, Monday (7/4/2025).
The result brought the Indonesian U-17 national team directly to the final round of the U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
"I congratulate you. The victory over Yemen in the second match of the U-17 Asian Cup made the Indonesian U-17 National Team qualify for the last 8 and at the same time ensure a place in the 2025 U-17 World Cup in Qatar," said Erick Thohir as reported by the official PSSI website.
"But remember, the struggle is not over. The players and coaching team must refocus on the next U-17 Asian Cup match to achieve the best achievements in the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup," he continued.
The 4-1 victory over Yemen occurred thanks to goals from Muhamad Zahaby Gholy, Fadly Alberto, and two goals from Evandra Floresta. This is the second victory for the Indonesian U-17 national team after a narrow 1-0 victory over South Korea in the first match.
Next, the Indonesian U-17 national team will face Afghanistan. However, whatever the result, Evandra et al. will not affect the qualification of the Indonesian U-17 national team to the next round.
