Indonesian Paralympic Team Bring Indonesian Cuisine to Paris

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Various unique strategies are carried out by Indonesian athletes who will compete in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, France, to maintain their enthusiasm.
One of them is by bringing a variety of Nusantara culinary as food supplies in Europe.
Fredy Setiawan, a badminton athlete in the men's singles SL4 classification and mixed doubles SL3-SU5, admitted to bringing “Gudeg” and “Kremes” as part of his provisions.
“There are certainly typical Nusantara food supplies, I brought 'Gudeg' and 'Kremes',” said Fredy.
The same thing was also revealed by his teammate, Dheva Anrimusthi who will compete in the SU5 men's single badminton number. He admitted to bringing chips as a companion to eat rice with while in Paris.
“There are several things I brought, of course, the food I like, like chips for companion to eat rice,” he said.
Meanwhile, para-swimming athlete Maulana Rifky Yafianda also brought “Abon” for his food supplies, so that when he eats, it will be more flavorful and not bland.
The decision to bring Nusantara cuisine is one of the ways Indonesian athletes could adapt to the conditions abroad, especially in terms of food.
The Indonesian contingent had departed early to adjust to the time and weather differences in Paris. They departed from Solo on Tuesday (8/20) in three batches.
They will join nine boccia and archery athletes who had already arrived in Paris on August 5.
The 2024 Paralympics will open at Place de la Concorde, Paris, on August 28.
