Persib Wary of Persebaya Challenge, Maximizing Break Time
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Persib Bandung is intensifying preparations for their upcoming BRI Liga 1 2024/25 Week 8 clash against table-toppers Persebaya Surabaya. The classic encounter is set for Friday (10/18) at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, behind closed doors.
The international break has provided Persib with a golden opportunity to recharge. Following a hectic September schedule, which included AFC Champions League Two appearances, the team is focusing on maintaining their unbeaten league run.
Dutch defender Nick Kuipers senses a positive atmosphere in the dressing room. "We've had a long break between matches, giving us time to train and prepare," he stated. "I think everything is going well, and we're ready.", as cited by ligaindonesiabaru.
Kuipers acknowledges Persebaya's transformation under Paul Munster's guidance since last season. The Irish coach has built upon his previous work, propelling the Surabaya-based club to the top of the standings.
This match could potentially end Persebaya's unbeaten record this season. Conversely, it's also an opportunity for Munster's side to extend their impressive run.
"Persebaya is a good team, they're compact and motivated, playing quite well," Kuipers explained. "They wouldn't be number one if they weren't capable. We must be prepared."
