SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Persebaya’s defense has shown remarkable improvement in the early 2024/2025 season. The team has only conceded one goal in their last three matches.

This defensive strength is a significant upgrade from previous seasons and is attributed to the partnership between Kadek Raditya and Slavko Damjanovic.

Kadek, hailing from Bali, explained that he has built a strong connection with Slavko, both on and off the field. "Slavko and I always share a room during away games and training camps," he stated, as quoted by Persebaya’s official website. This arrangement allows them to discuss tactics and strengthen their chemistry.

By staying in the same room, the duo has more time to review instructions from their coach and reflect on tactical sessions after practice. "Slavko is new to Liga 1, so I’m helping him adapt," Kadek added, highlighting his role as a partner to the Montenegrin defender.

Persebaya's defense this season stands out compared to previous years. Last season, the team conceded five goals in their first three matches, and in the 2022/2023 season, they let in seven goals in the same period.

Although satisfied with their progress, Kadek remains humble, stressing that the season is long and challenging matches lie ahead. He mentioned the upcoming game against Persita Tangerang on Saturday, noting their opponents’ strong form with two wins and one draw.
