SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia's head coach, Shin Tae-yong, is optimistic as his team prepares for their World Cup 2026 qualifying opener against Saudi Arabia. The match will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, on Friday, (September/6/2026), at 1:00 AM WIB.

Despite playing away, Shin assured that his squad remains confident. "We are in the toughest group, but we won't give up," he stated during a press conference on Wednesday, (September/4/2026).

The Garuda squad, according to Shin, is determined to give their best throughout the match. "Instead of focusing on the pressure, I choose to enjoy this moment and strive to perform our best," he added.

He also praised his team for reaching this stage and hopes to counter Saudi Arabia's strength with a strong performance. Reflecting on past experiences, Shin mentioned, "In the 2018 World Cup, I have good memories playing against Germany."

Indonesia is set to face a tough challenge, but Shin Tae-yong is confident in the team's preparation and spirit to deliver a great performance.
