Champions League: Liverpool Defeat PSG, Thanks to Alisson

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Liverpool narrowly won 1-0 over hosts PSG in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, Thursday (6/3/2025) early morning WIB. The Reds' goal was scored by Harvey Elliot in the 87th minute.
Liverpool's victory felt surprising because throughout the match they were continuously pressured by PSG. However, goalkeeper Alisson Becker's brilliant performance kept Liverpool's goal safe.
The Brazilian goalkeeper had to fall and get up repeatedly to ward off Ousmane Dembele et al's kicks. After the match, Alisson was awarded the best player award thanks to his performance.
Elliot himself actually appeared as a substitute. Liverpool manager, Arne Slot brought him in to replace Mohamed Salah who did not have many opportunities.
Who would have thought, Lady Luck was on Elliot's side who successfully kicked the ball into PSG's goal after receiving a pass from Darwin Nunez. Liverpool returned to England with their heads held high.
On the other hand, Barcelona also won over the hosts. Visiting Benfica, Barca won narrowly 1-0 over the Portuguese representative.
