SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia triumphed at the FIFAe World Cup 2024 in the console category after defeating Brazil in the finals held in Saudi Arabia on (12/12/2024). Represented by esports athletes Rizky Faidan and Elga Cahya, Indonesia claimed the title after an intense "best-of-three" series.

In the first match, Indonesia rallied from a 0-1 deficit to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory with a late goal in the second half. The second game saw Rizky and Elga dominate early, scoring twice in the first half.

Although Brazil managed to pull one back in the second half, Indonesia held firm, winning the match and securing the championship without needing a third game.

This victory adds to Indonesia’s impressive year in electronic football, following their AFC eAsian Cup 2024 title in February.

It also marks their second FIFAe World Cup title in 2024, having won the Football Manager category in September. Rizky Faidan, Elga Cahya, and Akbar Paudie have solidified Indonesia's presence as a powerhouse in the global esports scene.

Indonesia’s journey to the top was arduous, navigating a challenging Group A that included heavyweights like Spain, France, and England.

They finished second in the group standings, winning six matches against teams like Poland and Korea but suffering one loss to Spain. From there, they defeated Morocco in the quarterfinals and overcame Turkey in the semifinals to earn their spot in the final against Brazil.

Additionally, Indonesia fielded Philip Franc in the mobile category, where he reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Thailand’s representative.

With these achievements, Indonesia continues to set benchmarks in the global esports arena, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.
