SEAToday.com, Jakarta - U-22 head coach Shin Tae-yong, on November 28, 2024, expressed high ambitions for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup (AMEC) 2024. Bali was chosen as the location for the training camp to sharpen young players ahead of this major Southeast Asian event.
Shin explained, later that day, that AMEC is not just a tournament but also a chance for long-term player development.
“These players have great potential that we’re grooming for the future,” he said confidently. The event is also seen as preparation for the SEA Games as quoted from PSSI.
Shin assured, during his press briefing, that the team is ready to compete despite fielding a young squad.
“Our focus is to build a solid team capable of competing at a high level,” he stated. Group B, featuring Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos, will test Indonesia’s mettle.
