SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong expressed confidence in his players' abilities as they prepare for their 2026 World Cup qualification match against Saudi Arabia on (11/19/2024).

Despite Indonesia’s lower ranking at 130th globally, Shin remains hopeful, stating, "I believe in the players, tomorrow’s result depends on how hard they fight."as cited by antara.

Shin acknowledged Saudi Arabia as one of Asia's strong teams, though he noted that their rise to prominence was gradual. "Saudi Arabia didn’t become strong overnight, it was step by step," he remarked during a press conference at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on November 18.

Despite the challenge, Shin urged the Indonesian supporters to be realistic, understanding the team’s current position. "I’ll always give my best to secure a win against Saudi Arabia tomorrow," he added.

Thom Haye, a player from Almere City, shared Shin's views, asserting that the previous draw in Jeddah earlier in the qualifiers should not be the sole indicator of the upcoming match. "The team is fitter and stronger now," Haye noted.

Shin's belief in his team reflects his commitment to doing everything possible to secure a win despite the odds.
