Champions League Recap: Barcelona Dominates Crvena Zvezda

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - On (11/7/2024), Barcelona delivered an impressive 5-2 victory over Crvena Zvezda, while Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suffered a defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Both teams showed their class on matchday four of the 2024/2025 group stage, with Barcelona continuing their strong form this season.
Barcelona dominated their hosts, Crvena Zvezda, at the Rajko Mitic Stadium. The Blaugrana opened the scoring with Inigo Martinez's goal in the 13th minute, followed by Robert Lewandowski’s brace in the 43rd and 53rd minutes.
Raphinha added another in the 55th minute, and Fermin Lopez completed the rout with a goal in the 76th minute. Crvena Zvezda only managed to get two goals back through Silas and Milson, but it was clear that Barcelona had control throughout the match. The win follows their impressive 4-1 triumph over Bayern Munich earlier.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid caused an upset at PSG's home stadium, Parc des Princes, with a 2-1 victory. PSG initially took the lead with a goal from Warren Zaire-Emery, but Atletico responded with goals from Nahuel Molina and Angel Correa, sealing the win.
Despite PSG's early advantage, Atletico’s resilience proved too much for the French side.
In other matches, Italian clubs had a strong showing. AC Milan defeated Real Madrid 3-1, while Inter Milan edged out Arsenal 1-0, and Atalanta triumphed over Stuttgart 2-0. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich managed a narrow 1-0 victory over Benfica at Allianz Arena, with Jamal Musiala scoring the only goal of the match.
Overall, this round of Champions League fixtures saw some dominant performances, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid standing out with significant victories. These results continue to shape the competition in exciting ways as teams battle for top spots in their groups.
