Champions League Results: Arsenal Suffers Defeat at Inter Milan's Home
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Arsenal suffered a 0 - 1 defeat when they visited Inter Milan’s home in the Champions League on Thursday (11/7/2024) midnight WIB. Inter’s only goal came from a penalty scored by Hakan Calhanoglu just before halftime
The Gunners - Arsenal’s nickname - entered this match on a poor run. Mikel Arteta’s squad had lost two consecutive matches in the English Premier League (0-2 vs. Bournemouth, 0-1 vs. Newcastle United).
At the start of the game, Inter Milan, playing on their home turf took control of the attacks. However, Arsenal’s tight defense limited the Nerazzurri’s chances.
Just before halftime, the referee awarded Inter Milan a penalty after Mikel Merino was deemed to have handled the ball. Calhanoglu, assigned as the penalty taker, successfully placed the ball past David Raya.
In the second half, Arsenal played more offensively and created several chances. However, by the end of the match, the 1-0 score remained unchanged.
