SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Surprisingly,Real Madrid lost to AC Milan 1–3 in the Champions League on Wednesday morning (11/6/2024). This marks the second consecutive defeat Real Madrid has suffered at their home ground, the Santiago Bernabeu.
Previously, Real Madrid had lost 0–4 to their eternal rival, Barcelona, in La Liga. Naturally, Madrid had hoped the match against AC Milan would be an opportunity for a comeback.
But as the saying goes, "far from the fire." Instead of triumphing, Vinicius Jr. endured embarrassment in front of his home crowd.
Carlo Ancelotti's team conceded the first goal in the 12th minute with Malick Thiaw's header from a Christian Pulisic corner. In the 23rd minute, Vinicius equalized through a penalty.
However, before halftime, Alvaro Morata again forced Andriy Lunin to retrieve the ball from his own net, making it 2-1 in AC Milan's favor.
The Rossoneri ultimately sealed their 3-1 victory after Tijjani Reijnders skillfully converted a cross from Rafael Leao. AC Milan returned to Italy with all three points.
