Shin Tae-yong to Coach Indonesian National Team at ASEAN Cup 2024
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - National Team Agency (BTN) Chairman Sumardji has confirmed that Shin Tae-yong (STY) will coach the Indonesian national team at the ASEAN Cup 2024. This confirmation was echoed by PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir.
BTN also announced that the 2023 SEA Games squad will represent Indonesia at the 2024 ASEAN Cup, while the senior team will focus on the third round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Zone qualifiers.
"Regarding the senior team, it has been agreed and as directed by the PSSI Chairman during the meeting, we have decided with Coach STY to utilize the 2023 SEA Games squad for the ASEAN Cup 2024," Sumardji stated.
Indonesia has been drawn into Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2024 alongside the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The tournament will take place from November 23 to December 2.
