SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Chairman Erick Thohir is calling for the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) pitch to be upgraded to meet the standards of UEFA Euro 2024.
Criticism arose in early June regarding the uneven playing surface at GBK.
While the Indonesian national team will play their September FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, due to Pope Francis' visit to GBK, they return to the stadium in October and November.
Therefore, Erick Thohir emphasizes the need to repair the GBK turf before these upcoming matches.
