SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian national team defender Calvin Verdonk has been confirmed to join the Garuda squad for their upcoming match against the Philippines on Tuesday (6/11).

This confirmation follows FIFA's approval of Verdonk's switch in association from the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) to the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).

Verdonk's presence will strengthen Indonesia's defensive options, adding to their already strong backline. According to the PSSI website, the team boasts 12 defenders, including Jay Idzes, Jordi Amat, Rizky Ridho, Elkan Baggott, Justin Hubner, Muhammad Ferarri, Shayne Pattynama, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Pratama Arhan, Sandy Walsh, Asnawi Mangkualam, and now Verdonk himself.

The 27-year-old officially became an Indonesian citizen through a ceremony on Tuesday (6/4).
