Sports Minister Confirms Indra Sjafri to Coach Indonesia’s 2025 SEA Games Football Team

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, confirmed that Indra Sjafri will be assigned to prepare the Indonesian national football team for the 2025 SEA Games. This was conveyed on Monday (2/24).
"PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir told me that Coach Indra Sjafri will remain assigned to prepare the Indonesian national team for the SEA Games," he said.
Additionally, he mentioned that Sjafri has made significant contributions to Indonesian football's history. For that reason, Dito hopes that the 62-year-old coach can lead the Garuda squad to achieve the best results at the event, which will be held in December.
Previously, PSSI announced that it had relieved Indra Sjafri of his duties after failing to meet the target at the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025, on Sunday (2/23).
