SEAToday.com, Kuala Lumpur - Indonesia has officially submitted a bid to host the AFC Asian Cup 2031 as a single host nation. PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir and Secretary General Yunus Nusi have signed the individual bidding document and sent it to the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Erick said Indonesia has sufficient experience hosting international events, such as the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023. He is confident that Indonesia can successfully host the AFC Asian Cup 2031.
"In terms of the readiness of the organizing committee and FIFA-standard stadium facilities, we are already prepared," he said.
Previously, Indonesia co-hosted the same event in 2007 with three other Southeast Asian countries.
