Indonesia Mengajukan Diri Sebagai Tuan Rumah Piala Asia 2031
SEAToday.com, Kuala Lumpur - Indonesia tengah mengajukan diri sebagai tuan rumah tunggal Piala Asia AFC 2031. Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir dan Sekretaris Jenderal PSSI Yunus Nusi telah menandatangani dokumen pengajuan individual bidding ke markas Federasi Sepak Bola Asia (AFC) di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ia menyebut Indonesia sudah cukup berpengalaman menjadi tuan rumah di ajang internasional, salah satunya Piala Dunia U17 FIFA pada 2023 lalu. Erick Thohir meyakini jika Indonesia dapat memainkan peran sebagai tuan rumah di ajang Piala Asia AFC 2031 mendatang.
"Dari segi kesiapan panitia pelaksana dan fasilitas stadion berstandar FIFA sudah terpenuhi," ujarnya.
Sebelumnya, Indonesia pernah berperan sebagai tuan rumah di ajang yang sama pada 2007 lalu bersama tiga negara lain di Asia Tenggara.
