Paris 2024 Olympics: World Number One Badminton Player An Se Young Praises Gregoria Mariska After Match

SEAToday.com, Paris - There was an interesting moment after the Paris 2024 Olympic badminton semifinal match between Indonesia and South Korea on Sunday (8/4). South Korean women’s singles shuttler An Se Young showed gestures of respect toward Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, the only remaining Indonesian badminton representative. 

In the match that ended with An Se Young’s victory, the world number one showed respect to Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who is ranked below her, at eighth. 

This was seen after An Se Young celebrated her victory. She immediately approached Gregoria, said a few words to her, and hugged her.

Not only that, An Se Young also asked Gregoria to take pictures with her. An Se Young even led the audience in applauding Gregoria. An Se Young’s extraordinary appreciation for Gregoria reaped praises from netizens.
