SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Barcelona has a golden opportunity to surpass Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid at the top of the La Liga standings if they manage to defeat Rayo Vallecano in their upcoming match on Tuesday (2/18) early morning Indonesia Western Time.

This chance emerged after both of their Madrid rivals were held to draws during Matchweek 24 of La Liga, which took place early Sunday morning Indonesia Western Time.

Currently, Barcelona sits in third place with 48 points from 23 matches, just three points behind Real Madrid at the top and two points behind Atletico Madrid in second place.

Real Madrid nearly lost their lead after being held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium in Navarre. Los Blancos now have 51 points from 24 matches, holding a slim one-point advantage over Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid also failed to claim the top spot after drawing 1-1 against Celta Vigo at Civitas Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. This result keeps Atletico in second place with 50 points from 24 matches, just one point behind Real Madrid.

With this scenario, a win against Rayo Vallecano would propel Barcelona to the top of the standings, overtaking both of their Madrid rivals and intensifying the battle for this season’s La Liga title.
