SEAToday.com, Jakarta - South Korea's women's doubles pair, Kim Hye Jeong/Kong Hee Yong, claimed the 2025 Indonesia Masters title on Sunday (1/26).

In the final match, Kim/Kong defeated Malaysia's Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan in a rubber game, 21-12, 17-21, 21-18.

In the first game, although the score remained close at the beginning, Kim/Kong managed to take a significant lead at 7-3. Their dominance was evident, making it difficult for the Malaysian pair to find a way through South Korea's defense. Despite Tan/Thinaah attempting to catch up, they couldn't take the lead. The first game ended with Kim/Kong ahead at 11-7.

After the interval, Kim/Kong continued to dominate, increasing their lead to 16-9. Tan/Thinaah tried to close the gap, but were unsuccessful. Kim/Kong maintained their advantage, eventually closing out the first game 21-12.

In the second game, Tan/Thinaah started aggressively, turning the match around to lead 8-3. After the interval, Malaysia's defense solidified, extending their lead to 13-5. Despite Kim/Kong’s efforts to catch up, Tan/Thinaah continued to add points and sealed the second game 21-17, forcing a third set.

The third game became increasingly intense, with both pairs exchanging points early on. The score was tied at 8-8 before Kim/Kong took the interval lead at 11-9. Tan/Thinaah closed the gap, bringing the score to 11-12. The match heated up as Kim/Kong led 17-12, only to see Tan/Thinaah narrow the margin to 16-17. After a long rally at 19-17, Kong's sharp shot was unreturned by Malaysia, and the score ended 20-17.

A final, powerful shot from South Korea’s Kong sealed the victory for Kim/Kong, securing a 21-12, 17-21, 21-18 win, and the 2025 Indonesia Masters title.
