Fajar/Rian Secure Final Spot, Joining Jonatan at Indonesia Masters 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta – Indonesian men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto advanced to the final of the Indonesia Masters 2025 after defeating Thailand's representatives on Saturday (1/ 25).
Fajar/Rian secured a straight-game victory, 21-14, 24-22, against Kittinupong Kedren/Dechapol Puavaranukroh in the semifinal match held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
In the first game, Fajar/Rian took an early lead at 7-4 and continued to dominate, reaching the interval with an 11-7 advantage. After the break, the Thai pair caught up with four consecutive points, tying the score at 11-11.
The score remained tight until 13-13, but Fajar/Rian regained control and pulled ahead. Towards the end of the first game, both pairs exchanged points, but Fajar/Rian managed to secure a 21-18 win.
In the second game, Fajar/Rian started strong with a 5-2 lead, but their opponents quickly leveled the score at 5-5. Staying composed, the Indonesian pair maintained their focus and led 11-7 at the interval.
As the game progressed, Fajar/Rian continued to attack, making it difficult for their opponents to return shots. They extended their lead to 15-11 but faced pressure when the Thai duo closed the gap to 18-17.
The match became intense as the score reached 19-19 and went into deuce at 20-20. After three tense deuce points, Fajar/Rian finally sealed the win at 24-22.
With this victory, Fajar/Rian became the second Indonesian representatives to reach the final of the Indonesia Masters 2025. In the final match, they will face Malaysia’s Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee.
Indonesia will have two representatives in the finals: Jonatan Christie in men’s singles and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in men’s doubles.
