Erick Thohir: PSSI Technical Director to Be Announced by the End of February 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, stated that the position of the PSSI technical director will be filled and announced by the end of February 2025. He mentioned that finding the right candidate for this position is not easy, as Indonesia has many experienced coaches with a solid track record.
Erick added that he has already considered several potential candidates for the role of technical director, although the final choice may still change. The technical director will need to work closely with the senior national team coach as well as the U-23, U-20, and U-17 coaches.
He emphasized that the technical director must have a strong understanding of the philosophy and long-term plans for Indonesian football, as well as designing the development of national teams from youth levels to senior teams. Additionally, the technical director should also visit regions to share the football philosophy Indonesia aims to implement.
PSSI's transformation in 2025 began with the appointment of Patrick Kluivert as the new head coach of the Indonesian national team, replacing Shin Tae-yong. Previously, the role of technical director was held by Frank Wormuth, whose contract ended in December 2023. Erick hopes that through solid collaboration, Indonesia will continue to produce consistent generations of players and achieve great accomplishments.
