SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PSSI has officially announced Patrick Kluivert as the new coach of the Indonesian national team, replacing Shin Tae-yong. The Dutch coach has signed a two-year contract, running from 2025 to 2027, with an option to extend.

Kluivert will be supported by several assistant coaches, including Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat. Additionally, two local Indonesian coaches will be part of the assistant coaching staff.

Kluivert is a Dutch football legend who has played for several top clubs, including Ajax Amsterdam, AC Milan, Barcelona, Valencia, Newcastle United, PSV, and Lille.

After retiring in 2008, he became Louis van Gaal's assistant coach for the Dutch national team, which finished third at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In 2015, Kluivert was appointed head coach of the Curaçao national team, leading them through the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2017 Caribbean Cup qualifiers, among others.

His presence is expected to lead the Garuda squad to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Welcome, Coach @patrickkluivert9
