SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has been named TIME magazine's Athlete of the Year 2023 after winning the Ballon d'Or for the eighth time. Messi also raised the excitement of soccer fans following his move to American club Inter Miami.

The 36-year-old was instrumental in bringing Argentina to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In addition, Messi has also scored 11 goals in 14 matches and helped Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup 2023.
