SEAToday.com, Jakarta – Japan's mixed doubles pair, Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito, claimed the Indonesia Masters 2025 crown on Sunday (26/1) after defeating China's Guo Xin Wa and Cheng Fang Hui in straight games, 21-15, 21-17.

From the very start of the match, Midorikawa/Saito took control, racing to an 8-5 lead with their aggressive play. The Japanese duo’s relentless attacks disrupted the rhythm of their Chinese opponents, preventing them from finding their footing.

Midorikawa/Saito dominated the first-game interval with an 11-5 advantage and continued to build on their momentum. Their sharp offensive play and solid defense extended their lead to 15-8, leaving Guo/Cheng struggling to break through. In the end, the Japanese pair comfortably sealed the first game 21-15.

Determined to maintain their momentum in the second game, Midorikawa/Saito took an early 5-3 lead. However, the Chinese pair fought back to level the score at 8-8, but the Japanese team held their nerve to lead 11-9 at the interval.

After the break, Midorikawa/Saito accelerated their pace, stretching the gap to 15-9. However, Guo/Cheng responded with an impressive comeback, leveling the score at 16-16 with six consecutive points.

Despite the late challenge, Midorikawa/Saito kept their composure and closed out the match with a 21-17 win in the second game, securing their championship victory in straight sets.

With a final score of 21-15, 21-17, Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito triumphed over Guo/Cheng to lift the Indonesia Masters 2025 title in style.
