Four Indonesian Representatives Advance to Swiss Open Quarterfinals

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Four Indonesian representatives will compete in the quarterfinals of the BWF World Tour Super 300 Swiss Open 2025 at St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Friday local time.
In the women's singles category, Putri Kusuma Wardani will face China's Han Qianxi. The two players have each won one of their previous encounters. Han secured victory in their first meeting at the Malaysia International Junior Open 2018 with a score of 21-13, 24-22. Putri won their next match at the Korea Masters 2024 with a straight-game victory of 21-14, 21-14.
"I defeated Han Qianxi in the final of the Korea Masters last year, but I must remain cautious. Just last week, she managed to defeat my teammate, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, at the Ruichang China Masters 2025," Putri stated in an official release quoted by Antara.
In the women’s doubles, Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, known as Ana/Tiwi, will face Thailand’s Laksika Kanlaha and Phataimas Muenwong. The Indonesian pair has won both of their previous encounters against the Thai duo.
Their most recent meeting occurred in the opening round of the All England 2025, where Ana/Tiwi secured a 21-7, 21-9 victory. Based on their previous performances, the Indonesian pair will seek to maintain their consistency in the upcoming match.
Indonesia also has two representatives in the men's doubles quarterfinals: Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Muhammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
Sabar/Reza will face Taiwan’s Lee Fang-Chih and Lee Fang-Jen, who recently defeated Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana in the previous round. The Taiwanese pair also won their previous meeting against Sabar/Reza at the China Open 2024.
Meanwhile, Fikri/Daniel will compete against another Taiwanese pair, Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan, in their first-ever encounter.
Based on past performances and head-to-head records, Indonesian players have the opportunity to advance to the semifinals. However, each match will depend on in-game performance and strategy.
