SEAToday.com, Jakarta - New Indonesia National Team Coach Patrick Kluivert said he did not think twice when he was offered the job of coaching the Indonesian national team. Kluivert believes Indonesia has great potential in the world of football with its people who have a great interest in the game.

"The potential (of the Indonesian national team) is very large, I was immediately enthusiastic. Indonesia is a country with a population of almost 300 million people. Many of them are crazy about football.", said Kluivert in an interview with Dutch media De Telegraaf on Wednesday (1/8).

Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Chairman Erick Thohir said he chose Kluivert as a replacement for Shin Tae-yong because the coach has a big name in the world of football as a player.

Kluivert is a legend of the Dutch national team who has played for big clubs such as AFC Ajax, AC Milan and FC Barcelona. As a striker, he has scored 206 goals in 480 matches during his career.
