SEAToday.com, Jakarta – Napoli secured the top spot in the Italian League standings after a commanding 3-0 victory over Fiorentina in a Week 19 match at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, Florence, on Sunday (1/5) morning Indonesian time.

The victory was sealed through goals by David Neres, Romelu Lukaku, and Scott McTominay, as noted in the Serie A report.

This result places Napoli at the top of the table with 44 points from 19 matches, while Fiorentina sits in sixth place with 32 points from 18 games.

Statistically, Napoli held a slight edge with 52% ball possession and 10 attempts on goal, four of which were on target.

Napoli dominated from the outset and broke the deadlock in the 29th minute with a brilliant solo effort by David Neres. He skillfully dribbled past multiple Fiorentina defenders before firing a shot that found the back of the net.

Fiorentina briefly thought they had equalized through Moise Kean, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review confirmed a handball in the build-up.

Napoli doubled their lead in the 54th minute when Romelu Lukaku converted a penalty awarded after Matias Moreno fouled Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the box. Lukaku’s composed strike sent goalkeeper David de Gea the wrong way.

Despite Fiorentina’s attempts to fight back and create opportunities, they failed to find the net. Napoli, however, cemented their dominance with a third goal in the 68th minute, courtesy of Scott McTominay’s precise low shot.

The match concluded with Napoli securing a convincing 3-0 win. In Week 20, Napoli will host Hellas Verona on Monday (1/13), while Fiorentina is scheduled to visit Monza the following day.
