Timnas Basket Putra Indonesia Raih Emas di ASEAN School Games 2024

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Tim basket putra Indonesia mencetak sejarah dengan meraih medali emas untuk pertama kalinya pada ajang ASEAN School Games (ASG) 2024 setelah mengalahkan Filipina dengan skor 56-54 dalam laga final di Da Nang, Vietnam, Jumat (7/6). Kemenangan ini sekaligus membalas kekalahan Indonesia atas Filipina di babak grup. Saat itu, Indonesia kalah dari Filipina dengan skor 65-57.
Sekjen PP Perbasi, Nirmala Dewi mengatakan, keberhasilan yang dituai dalam ajang ASG 2024 ini sebagai sinyal cemerlang bagi masa depan basket Indonesia. Pelatih Rifki Antolyon menilai, game plan yang dibuat berhasil dieksekusi dengan baik oleh para pemain, terutama dalam hal bertahan. Hal ini menjadi kunci kemenangan Indonesia atas Filipina dalam pertandingan ini.
Sebelumnya, capaian tertinggi dari cabang olahraga bola basket adalah persembahan medali perak pada edisi ASG 2019 di Semarang.
