Sam Lowes Motorcycle Tires Become a Talking Thing While Racing in Mandalika

Seatoday.com, Jakarta Sam Lowes' motorcycle tires while racing in the Moto2 class at the Mandalika circuit some time ago became a topic of conversation. The reason is that the rear tire of Sam Lowes' motorcycle was so badly damaged that it even peeled off like a hole. This makes Dunlop tires become a topic of discussion among bikers in foreign forums. Moreover, this will be the last year that Dunlop will be the sole tire supplier for Moto2 and Moto3 class racing, which will be replaced by Pirelli next year.
Sam Lowes and his Marc VDS Racing team also explained what happened so that the tires peeled off during racing. "The track temperature (Mandalika) was the hottest throughout the year, 60 degrees Celsius! This made Tony Arbalino and Sam Lowes have to maintain the condition of the Soft-type Dunlop tires used during the 22 lap race," said Marc VDS Racing's press statement on its official website.
Sam Lowes also said that he didn't get a good feeling on the bike, especially starting in the middle of the race. "I had a problem with the rear of the motorcycle. It was out of my and the team's control," said Lowes. Dunlop reportedly regrets the Marc VDS team's decision not to follow the directions they gave. Dunlop advises racers who will use soft tire compounds to change them in the pits, not on the grid.
This is so that the tires can adapt and become more resistant when facing high temperatures on the track. However, Marc VDS Racing did not follow these instructions and changed the motorcycle tires on the grid. This is claimed to be one of the causes of the tires used by Sam Lowes being too badly damaged.
