Komentar FC Dallas Usai Maarten Paes Pastikan Bela Timnas Indonesia
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Klub Major League Soccer (MLS) FC Dallas bereaksi setelah kipernya Maarten Paes dipastikan bisa membela tim nasional Indonesia. Hal ini disampaikan melalui sebuah cuitan di akun X FC Dallas.
"Garuda's own (milik Garuda)," demikian bunyi keterangan dalam cuitan di akun resmi @FCDallas, Minggu, 18 Agustus 2024.
Unggahan itu turut menyertakan potret Paes dengan siluet Garuda. Paes akhirnya bisa memperkuat timnas Indonesia setelah mendapat lampu hijau dari FIFA.
Ini berarti Maarten Paes dapat bergabung bersama pasukan Shin Tae-yong saat jumpa Arab Saudi di Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 ronde ketiga yang mulai berlangsung 5 September 2024 di King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah.
Ketua Umum PSSI, Erick Thohir menyambut gembira kehadiran Maarten dalam skuad tim nasional.
"Kami percaya bahwa Maarten Paes akan membawa dampak positif bagi tim dan membantu Indonesia meraih prestasi yang lebih baik. Keputusan ini menunjukkan komitmen PSSI dalam mencari bakat-bakat terbaik untuk membangun masa depan sepak bola Indonesia," kata Erick, dikutip dari laman PSSI.
PSSI juga mengajak seluruh pecinta sepak bola di Tanah Air untuk mendukung Maarten dan tim nasional dalam perjalanan mereka ke depan.
