SEAToday.com, Paris - Gregoria Mariska Tunjung dipastikan meraih medali perunggu dari bulutangkis tunggal putri Olimpiade Paris 2024 setelah semifinalis Carolina Marin asal Spanyol mengundurkan diri dari laga karena cedera, Minggu (4/8).

Dalam pertandingan semifinal, Gregoria kalah 21-11, 13-21, 16-21 dari atlet Korea Selatan An Seo-young, mengantarkannya ke posisi perebutan medali perunggu. Sementara itu, dalam pertandingan semifinal antara Marin melawan He Bingjiao, Marin mengalami cedera lutut kanan. Saat itu, Marin unggul 21-14, 10-6, namun ia tidak dapat melanjutkan pertandingan dan terpaksa keluar dari turnamen ini.

Dengan terhentinya Marin, Gregoria berhak mendapatkan medali perunggu. Seperti yang tertera juga dalam jadwal pertandingan bulutangkis tunggal putri perebutan medali perunggu Olimpiade, Gregoria mendapatkan lawan “Bye”.
