SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Barongsai akan menjadi cabang olahraga (cabor) yang dipertandingkan untuk pertama kalinya di Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) 2024 di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara.
Cabor ini tergabung dalam Federasi Olahraga Barongsai Indonesia (FOBI) dan sebelumnya telah menggelar babak penyisihan Pra PON pada tahun 2023 lalu.
Pada gelaran PON 2024 mendatang, cabor Barongsai akan terbagi dalam 3 kategori, yaitu Barongsai, Naga, dan Pekingsai, dengan total 10 nomor yang akan dipertandingkan.
PON XXI Aceh-Sumut 2024 akan diselenggarakan pada 8-20 September mendatang untuk mempertandingkan 28 cabang olahraga. Tahun ini juga menandakan untuk pertama kalinya PON diadakan di dua provinsi sekaligus.
