PSSI Bebastugaskan Pelatih Timnas U20 Indra Sjafri
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PSSI resmi membebastugaskan pelatih timnas Indonesia U-20 Indra Sjafri, Minggu (23/2). Keputusan ini datang setelah pelatih berusia 62 tahun itu gagal mencapai target pada Piala Asia U-20 2025.
“Setelah kami di PSSI, baik saya, Wakil Ketua Umum, dan para Exco mengadakan evaluasi, kami berkeputusan untuk melepas Coach Indra Sjafri sebagai pelatih kepala Timnas U-20,” kata Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir, dikutip dari laman resmi PSSI.
Erick mengungkapkan PSSI akan segera mencari pengganti Indra Sjafri agar program pembinaan pesepakbola muda Indonesia yang sudah berjalan dalam dua tahun terakhir dapat terus berlanjut. Hal ini dilakukan demi mempersiapkan mereka sebagai pemain timnas senior di masa mendatang.
Pelatih Indra gagal memenuhi targetnya untuk membawa timnas U20 Indonesia melaju ke semifinal Piala Asia 2025. Indonesia menduduki posisi ketiga klasemen grup C setelah takluk oleh Iran dan Uzbekistan, dan seri dengan Yaman.
