SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Setelah memperpanjang kontrak baru Shin Tae-yong selama tiga tahun ke depan, PSSI menargetkan Timnas Indonesia bisa menembus ranking 100 besar FIFA.
Kontrak pelatih asal Korea Selatan ini diperpanjang usai berhasil memenuhi target PSSI yaitu membawa Timnas Indonesia ke babak penyisihan Piala Asia 2023 dan Indonesia U-23 ke semifinal Piala Asia U-23 2024.
Dalam kontrak baru, Shin Tae-yong juga mendapat kenaikan nilai upah dan target baru.
"Harga naik. Target kan 100 besar. sudah. Harga naik Gaji pasti naik. Tidak mungkin tidak," ujar anggota Komite Eksekutif (Exco) PSSI Arya Sinulingga, Selasa (9/7/2024).
Ia mengatakan bahwa pihaknya berharap bahwa target 100 tersebut bisa tercapai.
Timnas Indonesia memiliki peluang untuk menambah poin saat turun pada Ronde 3 Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026, meski harus menghadapi lawan-lawan berat dalam setim.
PSSI pun tidak memasang target spesifik, melihat kualitas lawan yang ada. Namun, mereka menginginkan bahwa Indonesia minimal bisa melanjutkan perjalanannya ke Ronde 4.
"Target itu (Ronde 3) tidak masuk dalam kontrak, tapi kalau kami ingin lewat Ronde 3 atau lewat Piala Dunia ya ini ya kami sih berharap jangan sampai playoff," kata Arya.
