Following the match, Hilgers approached the tribune and carried a red and white Indonesian flag with the Garuda emblem, which had been given to him by supporters. This moment quickly captured the attention of netizens, particularly Indonesian football fans.

Hilgers' citizenship recommendation has already been approved by Commission III and Commission X of the House of Representatives and is expected to strengthen the squad in October.
