SEAToday.com, Birmingham-Jonatan Christie menjuarai tunggal putra All England 2024 usai mengalahkan rekan senegara Anthony Sinisuka Ginting 21-15, 21-14 di Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Inggris, Minggu, 17 Maret 2024 malam WIB.
Jonatan jadi pemain Indonesia kelima yang merebut gelar di tunggal putra All England. Ia mengikuti jejak Rudy Hartono, Liem Swie King, Ardy B Wiranata, dan Hariyanto Arbi.
Bagi Jonatan, ini adalah gelar pertama dalam kariernya pada turnamen level Super 1000 BWF World Tour. Sebelumnya capaian terbaik atlet berusia 26 tahun itu adalah menjuarai ajang Super 750 French Open 2023.
Pada laga final nomor lain yang sudah berlangsung sebelumnya, Baek Ha-na/Lee So-hee asal Korea Selatan menjuarai ganda putri setelah mengalahkan Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida dari Jepang.
Sedangkan Carolina Marin asal Spanyol merebut gelar tunggal putri setelah Akane Yamaguchi dari Jepang mengundurkan diri karena cedera. (PUTU/DKD)
