Emas Pertama untuk Filipina dan Asia Tenggara! Carlos Edriel Yulo Menangkan Senam Lantai Putra Olimpiade Paris 2024
SEAToday.com, Paris - Filipina menjadi negara Asia Tenggara pertama yang meraih medali emas pada Olimpiade Paris 2024, setelah atlet senam Carlos Edriel Yulo, menjadi yang terbaik di nomor senam lantai pada Sabtu (3/8).
Yulo berhasil mendapatkan 15.000 poin dengan aksi yang berhasil ia tampilkan dengan sempurna. Juara bertahan Artem Dolgopyat hanya mampu mengamankan medali perak, dengan koleksi 14.966 poin. Sementara medali perunggu didapatkan oleh Jake Jarman dengan 14.933 poin.
Medali yang Yulo dapatkan ini merupakan medali pertama yang dicetak Filipina dalam cabang atletik. Medali emas ini juga merupakan kedua sepanjang sejarah partisipasi Filipina di Olimpiade, setelah sebelumnya atlet besi putri Hidilyn Diaz berhasil menang di nomor 55 kg pada Olimpiade Tokyo 2020.
