SEAToday.com, Zurich - FIFA secara resmi telah mengkonfirmasi Maroko, Portugal, dan Spanyol sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia 2030, dengan tiga pertandingan perayaan ulang tahun ke-100 yang akan diselenggarakan di Argentina, Paraguay dan Uruguay.  Keputusan tersebut diumumkan oleh Presiden FIFA Gianni Infantino setelah Kongres Luar Biasa pada hari Rabu (12/11). 

“Kami membawa sepak bola ke lebih banyak negara dan jumlah tim tidak mengurangi kualitas. Hal itu justru meningkatkan kesempatan,” kata Infantino.

Proposal gabungan dari Maroko, Portugal, dan Spanyol akan menempatkan kejuaraan dunia di tiga benua di enam negara. Uruguay, Argentina dan Paraguay masing-masing akan menggelar satu pertandingan yang menandai ulang tahun keseratus turnamen ini. 

Bersamaan dengan 2030, FIFA juga mengumumkan Arab Saudi sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia 2034.
