SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Tim nasional U-17 Indonesia berhasil meraih kemenangan penting 1-0 atas tuan rumah Kuwait dalam laga Grup G Kualifikasi Piala Asia U-17 2025, Rabu (23/10) malam WIB.
Gol semata wayang Indonesia dicetak oleh Mathew Ryan Baker di babak pertama. Kemenangan ini membuka peluang Indonesia untuk lolos ke putaran final Piala Asia U-17 2025.
Meskipun meraih kemenangan, pelatih Timnas U-17 Indonesia, Nova Arianto, mengatakan timnya masih perlu meningkatkan beberapa aspek.
"Ada beberapa catatan dan itu akan kami perbaiki," ujar Nova usai pertandingan, dikutip dari keterangan PSSI di Jakarta, Kamis.
Ia menyoroti ketenangan pemain saat menguasai bola dan konsentrasi saat menghadapi serangan balik lawan.
Nova mengakui para pemainnya terlihat gugup, namun menurutnya hal itu wajar terjadi di laga pertama turnamen. Ia berharap di laga berikutnya pemain bisa lebih menikmati pertandingan.
"Mereka tegang dan terlihat gugup. Namun itu wajar untuk laga pertama. Semoga pada laga berikutnya pemain bisa lebih menikmati pertandingan," kata Nova.
Bek Timnas U-17, Matthew Baker, sependapat dengan sang pelatih. Menurutnya, pertandingan pertama selalu menjadi yang tersulit, tetapi tim mampu tampil percaya diri dan menekan lawan hingga akhir laga.
"Pertandingan pertama selalu menjadi yang paling sulit, tetapi kami tampil percaya diri dan menekan. Kami berjuang sampai akhir. Kemenangan ini sangat penting," kata pesepak bola kelahiran Australia itu.
