Argentina Tanpa Lionel Messi di Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Lionel Messi dipastikan absen dari dua pertandingan Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 yang akan datang, di mana Argentina akan menghadapi Chile pada 6 September dan Kolombia pada 10 September 2024. Kapten timnas Argentina ini masih belum pulih dari cedera pergelangan kaki yang dideritanya pada final Copa America 2024 pada pertengahan Juli lalu.

Dilansir dari Antara, dengan absennya Messi, pelatih timnas Argentina, Lionel Scaloni, memanggil kembali Paulo Dybala yang terakhir kali membela Argentina pada Maret 2023. Selain Messi, Argentina juga akan kehilangan Angel Di Maria, yang sebelumnya mengumumkan pensiun dari timnas usai memenangkan Copa America 2024.

Meskipun tanpa kehadiran dua pemain bintang tersebut, Argentina tetap berada di puncak klasemen Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 zona Amerika Selatan. Enam tim terbaik dari 10 peserta di wilayah ini akan langsung lolos ke Piala Dunia 2026, sementara peringkat ketujuh harus melalui babak play-off.

Kualifikasi ini menjadi penting bagi Argentina untuk mempertahankan posisi mereka di puncak klasemen dan memastikan tiket langsung ke Piala Dunia 2026, yang akan digelar di Kanada, Meksiko, dan Amerika Serikat pada 11 Juni hingga 19 Juli 2026.

Timnas Argentina telah menyiapkan daftar pemain yang akan bertarung di dua laga penting ini, dengan penjaga gawang seperti Emiliano Martinez dan Juan Musso, serta pemain lini depan seperti Lautaro Martinez dan Alejandro Garnacho, yang diharapkan mampu membawa Argentina meraih hasil maksimal tanpa kehadiran Messi dan Di Maria.
