PSSI Ajak Suporter Timnas Indonesia Lawan Rasisme
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PSSI mengajak seluruh suporter timnas Indonesia melawan rasisme. Ajakan itu muncul setelah adanya komentar bernada rasis di akun instagram Federasi Sepak bola Guinea.
"Kepada teman kami @feguifootofficiel dan tim nasional sepak bola Guinea, selamat. Kami mengirim dukungan kami untuk perjalanan Anda di Olimpiade Paris 2024," tulis PSSI.
"Atas nama tim nasional Indonesia, kami meminta maaf dan menyesalkan ketidaknyamanan yang muncul dan komentar tak pantas yang ada di akun media sosial Anda," tulisnya lagi.
Komentar bernada rasis ini muncul setelah timnas Indonesia U-23 kalah dari timnas Guinea U-23 pada laga playoff Olimpiade Paris 2024, Kamis (9/5/2024) malam WIB. Akibat kekalahan itu, Witan Sulaeman dkk. gagal melangkah ke Olimpiade Paris.
PSSI sendiri menegaskan selalu menghormati perbedaan dan setiap kebudayaan. "Timnas Indonesia dan Persatuan Sepak bola Indonesia benar-benar menghormati perbedaan dan budaya dengan pikiran terbuka," tulisnya.
"Sebagai bangsa kami selalu berdiri melawan rasisme dan ujaran kebencian dengan segala cara," tambah PSSI.
